This is an interview we did with a friend of Derrius in the student center. We asked his thoughts on how students dress in class, and just MSU in general. I edited out Derrius and I talking as well as certain parts of his answer that didn't fit with the rest of it.

I lightened this picture up a bit because it was very dark.

For this picture, I cropped it so that all of the people fit tightly in the frame.

This picture was slightly crooked, so I straightened it and cropped it so that the two people fit tightly in the frame.

This picture had something else to the left of these ladies, but they were the most interesting part of the picture so I just left them in.

This picture was also crooked, so I straightened it up.  Also, I cropped it down to just these two girls.

Big Gay Ice Cream Truck

Here is a story about a "Gay Ice Cream Truck" that is in New York City.  The original story was about 3 minutes long, and I cut it down to 59 seconds.  I had to cut out a lot of the ice cream truck driver talking to customers, but I still was able to maintain the original meaning of the story.

Tajik Jimmy

Here is my edited clip of the Tajik Jimmy story.  I cut down some of the actual song by Tajik Jimmy to make it shorter and less repetitive.  I also cut out some of the reporter's comments that seemed to be not as important as the rest of the story.

Storytelling by Ira Glass

I found Ira Glass's videos on storytelling to be very interesting. He challenged everything I had been taught about storytelling growing up in school. One thing in particular that stuck out to me was when he said that storytelling in broadcast is not anything at all like what you do in high school. In broadcast, you can't just form a thesis and build off of that. The story has to have momentum. The example story he told about the man who wakes up and gets out of bed was a perfect example of that. He made the point that the actual facts of the story were incredibly boring, but because the story had momentum, it was very intense and interesting.

Slideshow

Here is an audio slideshow of an Neo-Nazi rally I found that is really well done.  The audio really helps intensify what is going on in the photographs.
